DUBAI – InteleTravel, the world’s oldest and largest host travel agency, has launched its operations in the UAE as part of a major regional expansion strategy.

The company, which operates a growing network of more than 180,000 independent travel advisors worldwide, has established its UAE headquarters in Dubai. The launch aims to create new opportunities for travel professionals in the country while strengthening connections between UAE-based suppliers and global travellers.

The company has already secured contracts with 34 preferred partners in the UAE, covering a range of travel sectors including cruises, tour operators, airlines, hotels, live events and attractions. These partnerships will be supported by a back-office platform featuring more than 3 million products, enabling advisors to create dynamic travel packages for customers.

InteleTravel UAE has obtained the required legal permits and UAE trading licences, with a dedicated customer service team established to support advisors operating in the market. The company is now preparing to build its local network by recruiting travel advisors, with an initial target of 1,000 members and plans for further expansion.

Local growth plans

The UAE’s diverse international population provides InteleTravel with a strong base of potential advisors, including professionals who already have experience with the company and are now based in the Emirates. Through its launch, InteleTravel is offering individuals in the region the opportunity to develop their own travel businesses with access to global resources, industry partnerships and operational support.

To help advisors build their businesses, InteleTravel has introduced a dedicated training programme in the UAE. The initiative includes mandatory travel training to maintain consistent service standards, along with practical tools and resources for launching and managing travel operations.

The programme will also include regular partner-led webinars, podcasts, live events and access to familiarisation trips, allowing advisors to gain industry knowledge and experience. Members will also be able to participate in an annual convention as part of the company’s wider global advisor network.

Global expansion

The UAE launch comes as the company continues to expand its international presence across key travel markets. InteleTravel said the country’s strong economy, advanced infrastructure and position as a major global travel hub provide a foundation for long-term growth.

Tricia Handley-Hughes, who developed InteleTravel’s UK and Ireland business into one of the company’s largest markets and is overseeing the UAE launch, said the company’s entry into the market reflects its long-term commitment to the region.

“Our launch gives us time to settle in, train and educate advisors before the busy booking season, and form close relationships with our new partners,” she said.

She added that the expansion is designed to create opportunities for UAE-based travel advisors to build careers and develop as entrepreneurs, while also opening new sales channels for local suppliers.

InteleTravel Co-Founder and CEO James Ferrara said the UAE’s role as a global travel hub made it an important market for the company’s international growth plans.

“The UAE has established itself as one of the world's most important travel hubs, connecting Europe, Asia, Africa and Australasia through its world-class infrastructure,” Ferrara said.

Headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida, InteleTravel operates across the UK, Ireland, the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. The company works with major travel suppliers worldwide, including hotel groups, cruise lines, holiday companies, car rental agencies and tour operators, providing its independent advisors access to a broad global travel marketplace.
